DIY Valentine Heart & Fabric Envelope for your LOVE

With Valentines Day around the corner why not make the love of your life a handmade gift.

Start by needle felting a sweet heart and embellish with anything you like, I used a simple Skinny Grey Gingham ribbon from the fantastic range that Jane Means has online....

..using an old envelope as a template pin onto a piece of ticking and plain fabric right sides facing each other,  then cut out the shape.....

....sew all the way around leaving a 5cm gap and make sure you snip the the curved edges and any nooks.....

.....turn the whole thing right side out then sew around the outline to close the opening. Then sew on some gorgeous ribbon on one of the folds (the base one!) I loved sung this rich Red with White Dots Grosgrain ribbon, a perfect contrast to the ticking fabric.

Now print a personal message on a piece of frayed fabric and sew this onto the front of the envelope, then hand sew the rest of the edges together to form an envelope leaving the top flap open. Cut a small slit on this flap to thread the ribbon through....

...and place the heart inside, seal by tying the ribbon in a bow and a little kiss!

For my LOVE......
